Mountainbiking in the Eastern SierraIt’s Spring in the Eastern Sierra!  Bishop’s fruit trees and flowers in bloom and Death Valley’s wildflower show has started.  Warmer temperatures and sunny skies are turning people’s thoughts to outdoor activities not geared toward snow play.  Fishing season opens at the end of April and the June Lake Loop is already snow-free and open, most lakes are without ice.

If you are an avid fisherman or fisherwoman, and cannot wait until then, the Owens River and Pleasant Valley Reservoir in Bishop are open year round.  Road conditions permitting, even the Upper Owens can be fished in the winter, catch and release only!  Be sure to get your free copy of the latest fishing regulations for our area at one of the local sporting goods shops.

If rock climbing is your thing, there are many places here in the Eastern Sierra to get your climb on and Spring temps are ideal.  Check with one of the local sports shops for the latest information on conditions and for maps and regulations.

Although most people think of Mammoth as a winter sports haven, (at the time of writing, the Mountain expects to be open through Memorial Day) Summer in the high country is attracting more and more people every year.  The Mountain has a terrific mountain bike park with trails for beginner to expert.  The Bike Park opens in early summer as soon as conditions allow.

If you are a music and/or food fan, summertime in Mammoth is full of great opportunities with many food and music festivals on the calendar, such as the Jazz Jubilee and Bluesapalooza.  Come experience summer in Mammoth as you will not be disappointed.

Are you considering a second home in the Eastern Sierra?  Condos are a good investment for summer and winter use, and can be rented out nightly when you are not here.  Allow me to help you find the perfect getaway for you and your family.  There are some really great deals out there, and it would be prudent to make your purchase before the prices and interest rates go up.  Call today for expert assistance with the local real estate market.  Happy Spring!
